Twitter Tasting # TWV 16 Winery Rheinterrassenhof - Janssen The
estate Rheinterrassenhof Janß , the supplier of the 16 Twitter wine package comes from Rheinhessen, more precisely, from Gunter Blum. Wolfgang Janssen, owner and winemaker, and only recently in the WeinWebWelt at the start, was kind enough to step in at short notice and has in record time from a few days the package genschnürt. The first wine, a white wine, as always, was the Riesling "SJ". I personally am a pure dry drunk. So I was skeptical accordingly, as in the run of double-digit residual sugar content (the yeasts were probably already sick) and also malolactic fermentation was mentioned. And the wine was also similar, as expected. The acid was fortunately still palpable, but the 10 grams of RZ. Last night was dedicated to the round of red Cuvee called XXL 2007 vintage. I was again really excited to see what is hidden in the bottle. The wineries are recommended to decant the wine before. Normally I do this extremely rare, as lazy, but in this case, I followed the tip and it was worth it. The wine developed over the 2 hours # TWV really huge and has almost always well liked. He holyday while concealing his 14%, but the alcohol and the clear wood (36 months) were never pushy. The most dominant flavors were tobacco, black currant and malt. I look forward to the rest of the bottle. The Cuvee is composed of approximately 11% St. Laurent, 33% Pinot Noir, Cabernet 22% and 33% S. Frühburgunder, cool story.
Conclusion: Crema Catalana with spoon Cassistopping from cigar boxes, all in a liquid with screwdriver for € 7,50 Chapeau estate Janssen!
I was really pleasantly surprised by the qualities of the vineyard Janß and find it very exciting what is known in Germany for less than € 5, - can get for the smaller budget if you only know where! I still have a lot of wine in the cellar, I looking forward to Silvaner and Co.
